What it does
ToolHive is a desktop application that lets you discover, install, and run MCP servers through a graphical interface. Each server runs in an isolated container with minimal permissions, and ToolHive auto-configures popular AI clients like Claude Desktop, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor so you can start using tools immediately.
Key features
- One-click MCP server deployment — Browse and launch any MCP server from a graphical interface, no manual config needed
- Secure container isolation — Every server runs sandboxed with only the permissions it needs; secrets are managed securely, never in plaintext
- Auto-configures AI clients — Seamlessly integrates with Claude Desktop, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and more by writing the right config for you
- Cross-platform — Runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux as a native Electron app
- HTTP/SSE proxy — Exposes each MCP server via an HTTP/SSE proxy so any MCP client can connect
