ZotPilot
from zotpilot18
Zotero-focused research assistant: index, search, and organise academic papers and libraries; supports ingestion, tagging, collections and citation lookups.
What it does
ZotPilot is an agent skill and MCP tool for working with Zotero libraries and academic papers. It checks readiness, indexes a user's documents, and provides research workflows: semantic and boolean search across papers, retrieval of passages, citation lookups, and tools to tag and organise libraries. It exposes CLI scripts to run status checks, index documents, and perform batch tagging/collection operations.
When to use it
Use ZotPilot when users ask about literature reviews, finding papers on a topic, locating specific passages or figures, getting library overviews, or organising/tagging collections in Zotero. Also used for adding papers by DOI/arXiv/URL and for citation discovery.
What's included
- Scripts:
scripts/run.pyprovides status, setup, index, and research commands. - References: setup and troubleshooting guides are referenced in the skill body (references/setup-guide.md, references/tool-guide.md).
- Instructions: readiness checks, indexing workflow, tool-selection matrix, output formatting rules, and write-operation caveats (requires Zotero Web API credentials for writes).
Compatible agents
Python-based agent integrations and MCP server agents that can run the provided scripts (Python 3.10+). It relies on Zotero APIs for write operations.
