CLI tool to manage and switch between AI agent profiles and personas across different platforms like Claude and Codex.
What it does
PMX is a profile management CLI tool that allows users to organize and quickly switch between different AI agent configurations (personas). Instead of manually editing configuration files, PMX stores profiles as Markdown files and applies them to tools like Claude Code or OpenAI Codex with a single command.
Tools
profile list: List all available AI agent profiles.profile create: Create a new persona profile.set-claude-profile: Apply a specific profile to Claude Code.set-codex-profile: Apply a specific profile to OpenAI Codex.profile copy: Copy profile contents to the clipboard for sharing.
Installation
Install via cargo:
cargo install pmx
Since PMX manages other agents rather than being a typical MCP server itself, it interacts with the configuration files of other MCP-compatible tools.
