Map View (Obsidian)

What it does

Adds geolocation capabilities to Obsidian via the Map View plugin and Obsidian CLI. The skill provides commands to search for places, insert coordinates into note front matter, append inline geo-links, and open a focused map view for a note. Use it to plan trips, record visited places, or embed place references inside notes that render as map pins.

When to use it

Trigger when the user asks to add, list, or recommend places (restaurants, attractions, venues), to plan a trip, or whenever note content includes real-world locations. Also useful when converting place mentions into structured location data in front matter.
