Obsidian CLI Integration

What it does

This skill teaches an agent how to interact with a running Obsidian instance using the official obsidian CLI. It covers command syntax, file and vault targeting, common patterns for reading/creating/appending notes, searching vault content, and developer tooling commands for plugin development and debugging.

When to use it

Use when the user asks the agent to manage notes, search content, edit properties, automate daily notes, or assist with Obsidian plugin/theme development. The skill assumes Obsidian is running and the CLI is available on the host.

• References: Points to the official obsidian CLI docs and provides command examples for read/create/append/search, plugin reload, screenshot, and dev console inspection.
• Instructions: Examples of parameter syntax, flag usage, vault/file targeting, and common developer cycles (reload → check errors → verify). Also lists useful developer commands like dev:screenshot, dev:dom, and eval.

Useful for agents that can run or instruct shell commands on a host where Obsidian is open (Copilot/Codex-style agents, local automation agents, Claude with shell access).
